General information only

Crash Guide provides general accident information and service discovery. It does not provide legal, medical, financial or insurance advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as advice about your particular situation.

We do not determine fault

Crash Guide does not decide who was legally responsible for an accident. Where our content or the Accident Assistant refers to fault, it reflects what you have told us and is phrased as a possibility, not a finding. Liability is assessed by the insurers involved on the evidence, and in some cases by a court.

We do not diagnose injuries

Crash Guide does not diagnose injuries, assess how serious they are, or determine whether you are eligible for compensation under any scheme. If you have symptoms, see a health professional.

We do not promise outcomes

Crash Guide does not promise compensation, an entitlement, a payout, a claim outcome or a particular level of insurance cover. Anyone who does promise you those things before assessing your circumstances should be treated with caution.

State and territory rules

Injury schemes, crash reporting requirements and road rules differ between Australian states and territories, and they change. We cite primary government and regulator sources and show when each page was last reviewed. Always confirm the current position with the relevant authority for anything that affects a claim.

Service providers you are connected with through Crash Guide are independent businesses. Crash Guide does not provide, supervise or guarantee their services. Read any agreement before you sign it.
